Synopsis
DAUGHTER OF THE SOIL” is a short film about the power, legacy, and beauty of African women. The film follows a young African girl Shona (Zimbabwean) who falls asleep and finds herself interacting with one of her spiritual guides. Within the short film her spiritual guide reveals to her the female ancestors that came before her. Through this journey she learns about these women as well as what it means to be an African. “Daughter Of the Soil” highlights the importance of knowing one’s identity and the relevance that history plays in the world that is ever changing and dictating who you should be.
